Village Hall
<Best Newcomer Award and Highly Commended in Radio Kent’s Best Community Village – 2006>
The hall is a registered charity (No. 281.786) and is run by the villagers, for the villagers. It plays an important role in village life, and it provides many activities and other community projects for them to enjoy. See the list of the clubs and other activities that are held in the hall.
The hall is currently being refurbished and the committee is working extremely hard to keep ahead of the expenditure. Apart from its use by organisations many additional activities and events are run to fill the coffers.

Committee held on 23 November 2009: minutes
Every Tuesday a Farmers Market is held, and regular indoor Boot Fairs are organised during the winter months, (both extremely popular in the area with support from many outside the village), quiz nights, discos, fashion shows, craft shows to name but a few (see the What’s On Diary ). If you are new to our village the Community Afternoons and Friendship Circle are great places to make new friends. The weekly (Thursdays) Community Afternoon (Teas from Two) session where books, jigsaws and videos can be hired for a nominal fee or a game of cards or scrabble can be played. It is also a very good meeting place and where Advice Surgeries on various topics are occasionally held. We are always open to new ideas and suggestions.
Another way of fund-raising are our very popular Quiz Sheets which are available by post or at the Farmers Market or Community Afternoon. These Quiz sheets are set on a different subject every six weeks with a prize for the winner. The quizzes are usually cryptic and are a great way of keeping the brain working!
A monthly Grapevine newsletter is delivered to every household in the village, which gives all the information on forthcoming events, reports from clubs, etc. This is a ‘must’ read, especially for those without access to this web site.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact any of the committee members, who will be pleased to help.
With good wishes from the Capel-le-Ferne Village Hall Management Committee.
