Capel-le-Ferne has been twinned with Oye-Plage since 1992. Oye-plage is in the Department of Pas-de-Calais in France, about 7 miles (12km) East of Calais.


The Annual General meeting of the Capel Twinning Association took place on Friday 29th January 2010 in the Church Hall, Albany Road Capel – Le – Ferne at 7-30pm. The Chairman, Mr Bill Heath opened the meeting and welcomed members.

Members Present:

There were 33 members in attendance with apologies from Mrs W. Marshall, Mr & Mrs J. Watson, Mr & Mrs B. Young, & Mrs G. Beaumont.

Copies of The Minutes of the A.G.M. 2009 were presented to members and were agreed unanimously.

The Chairman’s Report:

Thanks was given to the Officers, and all the Committee Members. Also to Alex Reynolds for auditing the accounts. Condolences were offered for the loss of committee member. Mr R. Hebditch. Information on events scheduled for the coming months of 2010, was related to members. also membership fee to remain at £3.00 per member.

Secretary’s Report:

Review of trips taken last year, weather more kind to us than the year before, committee disappointed with poor support from members, in respect of the trips and social events organized last year. Oye plage visit to us was a great success, with the ride on the Hythe railway.

Treasurer’s Report:

With healthy funds at the end of 2009, balance of £1,540.44.

The meeting then stopped for refreshments of hot home made soup & French bread. The raffle was drawn by Gess Harman, and the evening closed
