Visiting Spitfire!

Posted by Webmaster on Sunday, January 30, 2011

There will be a full-scale, non-flying, replica of K5054 – the prototype Spitfire – at the Battle of Britain Memorial on 5 and 6 March to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the iconic aircraft’s first flight.

The replica, which is normally based at the RAF Museum at Tangmere, will be on loan from the Spitfire Society.

Action Stations! will be operating flights over Capel-le-Ferne that weekend, so you can see a Spitfire in the air as well as K5054 on the ground!

This has only been possible because the volunteers have agreed to open the site three weeks in advance of their normal 1 April date, for which they deserve much thanks.
