Dover West Neighbourhood Forum

Posted by Peter Jones on Friday, January 08, 2010

a meeting of the Dover West Neighbourhood Forum which was to be held on Monday 18 January 2010 at the Capel-le-Ferne Village Hall, Lancaster Avenue, Capel-le-Ferne, Nr Folkestone, Kent, CT18 7LX, starting at 6.30pm, with refreshments from 6.00pm, was cancelled. It will now take place on Monday 22 February.

Topic: Save Money, Save Energy: Its time to do something

Refreshments will be available half an hour before the meeting starts; this provides a chance to meet local councillors from county, district and town. You will also have the opportunity to talk to a representative from the Dover District Community Safety Partnership. The agenda for the meeting will be available on the night.

The purpose of the Neighbourhood Forum is to provide opportunities:

- For elected County, District and Town and Parish Councillors to work more closely with public and together, and with voluntary and private sector partners locally, to meet the aspirations of local people;

- For a regular forum for community consultation and participation that will encourage discussion and debate on matters of particular relevance to their area;

- To consider the need for services in the local community, and look at the effectiveness of existing services;

- For KCC and DDC’s Cabinet and Cabinet Members to consult on strategic issues affecting a Neighbourhood Forum area; and

- To allow Council Members to consider funding applications made to the Small Community Capital Projects fund.

Have Your Say: What would you like to discuss?

The Neighbourhood Forums discuss a wide-range of local and district wide issues, not just those involving Kent County Council or Dover District Council. We will invite speakers to come to the meetings to talk and answer questions about specific topics chosen by you – these can be councillors, council officers, police, health and others. Past topics have included planning, community safety, active older people, climate change and youth services.

Let us know what matters to you so we can arrange meetings relevant, and of interest, to you. Please send any suggestions to Emma Carey at the address below or give us your ideas at the Dover West Neighbourhood Forum meeting.
