Folkestone Harbour Festival

Folkestone’s famous Harbour Festival is now in its 5th year, already one of Shepway’s best days out it’s been getting bigger, better and more successful every year. This July the festival will be running alongside the Folkestone Triennial and visitor numbers are expected to he higher than ever.
The Harbour Festival is to be held on the 19th July 2008 starting at 10am and finishing at 9pm with a grand fireworks display in the harbour, which is always spectacular. As usual, entry is free. All proceeds go to the RNLI and other local charities.
This year’s attractions include:
The annual Raft Race off Sunny Sands at around midday, followed by the Annual Trawler race and a demonstration yacht race.
There will also be a Truck Pull, Gladiators, Bungee Run, Rodeo Bull, Bouncy Castles, Skittle Alley, and Dover Lifeboat will be on display in the Harbour∗.
HM Coastguard vessel “Anglian Monarch” with its firefighting water cannon display∗ will also be entertaining the crowds, along with Air Sea Rescue Helicopter, Funfair and Childrens Rides, Market Stalls, Food Stalls, Tombolla, Helicopter Rides, Sideshows on the Stade and Live Bands all afternoon and into the evening.
There will be the Grand Fireworks finale at 9pm and more atractions are still being added. Full timetable will become available shortly.
